Hiking Naturpark Thal

Hiking the Jura landscape of the Thal region is simply a pleasure. Experience nature and landscape in peace and quiet, and breath in the fresh air. The Naturpark Thal offers a wonderful mix of small and cozy villages, cultivated fields and pastures, and plenty of almost untouched wilderness.

We recommend a variety of theme trails and hiking routes for every occasion and fitness level. They will take you to the most beautiful places in the park!

The natural wilderness of Naturpark Thal is a recreational space that we share with the plants and animals which live there. The less we disturb their habitats, the better. Therefore, we ask you to follow some basic rules during your excursion:

  • Stay on the marked paths
  • Keep dogs on a leash
  • Take your waste back with you
  • Leave plants and flowers by the wayside
  • Light fires only at designated fireplaces

Wasserfallen-Kamm Route

Hiking trail

From the Wasserfallen top station you walk to the fantastic viewpoint of Vogelbergfluh and descend to the former comb-making village of Mümliswil. Regional gourmet treats await you in the mountain restaurant and in Mümliswil.

Signalization

From the Wasserfallen top station it ascends hiking trails up to Vogelbergfluh. From the viewpoint you go down to the road and walk on this down through the forest. After this you then turn left. After arrival at the Obere Wechten mountain restaurant you follow the 2nd Solothurn woodland hiking trail in the direction of Wechtenegg from topic boards 8 to 5. There you turn off right (instead of left). Follow the intersecting woodland road down as far as Reckenkien. 200 metres after leaving the edge of the forest take the path right and then the access road to the hamlet. You reach Mümliswil along the old Passwang road.

Safety advices

Required: Good footwear, healthy joints (medium steep descent), sure-footedness.
